Summit Deliverables

The summit will focus in two key areas which will be the key components of the National Pain Strategy.

Best Practice

• Agree of what is best practice in pain management: including strategies to manage chronic pain and strategies in acute pain management aimed at reducing the risk of progression from acute to chronic pain.
• Develop new standards of treatment for pain patients - for both primary and secondary care. (To be adopted by all specialist pain clinics and all other healthcare providers).

Service Delivery

• Develop a model of service delivery to make best practice pain management services available to all Australians.
